ICOM seeks to receive project proposals related to the\u00a0challenges raised by the current pandemic and museums\u2019 resilience, exploring\u00a0promising\u00a0new models for museum practice following the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p>At its 145th session (16 June 2020), the ICOM Executive Board decided to reallocate the funds that have not been spent in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic to the ICOM Solidarity Projects, to support the network and museum professionals worldwide to adapt to the new health-related measures that are affecting our sector.<\/p>\n<p>The projects will be selected by the Strategic Allocation Review Committee (SAREC).\u00a0<strong>Please note that only National and International Committees, Regional Alliances and Affiliated Organisations can apply<\/strong>. The call is addressed to these entities. Thus,\u00a0<strong>we kindly invite individual members that are interested in the call to contact their National or International Committee\/Regional Alliance\/Affiliated Organisation to present the projects they may have.<\/strong>\u00a0Depending on the availability of funds, a second call for Solidarity Projects may be launched in February 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Projects may focus on topics including but not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best practice examples on organizing work in museums and adapting to new circumstances: trends and new ideas (i.e., for museum education);<\/li>\n<li>Museum professionals\u2019 challenges \u2013 remote work and the risk of losing the job;<\/li>\n<li>The post-pandemic visitor:\u00a0safety and new needs in focus;<\/li>\n<li>Relations between museums and their community during and after the pandemic: support to implement new approaches;<\/li>\n<li>Strategic and operational planning to ensure a sustainable future of museums after the lockdowns;<\/li>\n<li>Activities conceived for the post-pandemic scenario seeking to:\n<ul>\n<li>generate income for museums<\/li>\n<li>create jobs<\/li>\n<li>reorganise the visits and exhibitions<\/li>\n<li>develop new activities<\/li>\n<li>reach out to local publics and communities<\/li>\n<li>develop online activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Other topics that can be of general interest for the global museum community related to post-COVID 19 resilience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Should you have any questions about the ICOM Solidarity Projects 2021, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Fernando Avakian (<a href=\"mailto:fernando.avakian@icom.museum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fernando.avakian@icom.museum<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for application to the first call:<strong> 13 December 2020 at midnight (Paris time).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"link_blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/icom.museum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Solidarity-Projects-English.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call for projects<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ICOM is pleased to announce the launch of a call for\u00a0Solidarity Projects 2021.
